Service Description: Offers childrens mental health services and supports for children and their families * client centred services focus on social, emotional and behavioural well-being primarily for children, youth and their families and includes residential programs, nonresidential programs and programs geared to the support and education of staff of other child serving systems

Family Mediation and Information Service for anyone seperating or divorcing provides:
  • On site mediation services available to families who are before a judge in court that day, to deal with minor issues and judge-referred mediations on narrow issues related to family problems such as disagreements about the care and custody of children after separation and visiting arrangements
  • Off site family mediation for resolving care and custody disputes, visitation arrangements, child and spousal support payments and the division of property and assets and general decision making * A great and inexpensive alternative to court system
  • Free Mandatory Information Program on impact of separation on children and adults as well as overview of the court process and alternatives to litigation * call Family Law Information Service to register 905-853-4816
  • Family Law Information Service (FLIC) at the Courthouse 50 Eagle St West, Newmarket, ON Phone 905-853-4816 * Walk in service for anyone separating/divorcing * offers alternatives to family court system * provides information about professional mediation, community services and supports
Alternative Dispute Resolution Program: This program, helps to find solutions for families involved with Child Welfare, is an alternative to court and helps families to work together with the CAS to find solutions * Different approaches include - Family Group Decision Making, Child Protection Mediation and Aboriginal Approaches * Please call 905-773-4323 ext 305 or 386 for more information

Fees: None - except for Family Mediation, which is based on income
Application: Intake processes all service requests except for Day Treatment and Residence * day treatment has to be identified at the school board level and leads are in each board * residential referrals are processed through the YRCI community table * Intake can direct individuals on these separate pathways * Community and Prevention requests - Deborah Manion x318
