Emergency Shelters

The Region
of Durham provides supports to households who are homeless or at risk of becoming
homeless through a number of community partners.

Durham Regional Police Service refers people without shelter to appropriate resources in the community. People can stay at an emergency shelter throughout the year if they have lost their house and have no other place to stay. Shelter beds will be given to people who live in Durham first.
